If you are a regular follower of this blog, then you will notice a bit of a change for the next 8 weeks. I am serving as a table leader for an 8 week Freedom Workshop. If you'd like to follow along, you can find the resources at the link directly above. Also, I will post here, the daily Bible reading assignment (heartwork) so you can read along. This workshop has been a life changer for me so I'm eager to share it with others. May you be blessed!
BIBLE READING HEARTWORK
Week 6 - Day 1
Week 6 - Day 1
1 John 4; Psalm 119:33-40
1 John 4:18-19
Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love. We love each other because he loved us first.
Lord, thank you for showing me this verse! It's no coincidence that I read this today. Yesterday, A told me that she is afraid to talk to you, God. I need to write this verse on an index card and give it to her. I pray that it will encourage her that she doesn't need to be afraid of you, Lord. You want to see her repent and turn to you. You want to teach her how to live in a way that brings life and peace, not death.
Lord, please continue to use me to minister to this girl who is about the same age as my oldest son. I confess that it is uncomfortable and exhausting. But it is kingdom work and I want to be helping to bring others to heaven. Thank you for the way you have been using me.
Please, use us tonight as we go downtown to do street witnessing. Lead us to people whose hearts you are already working on. Please give us fruit tonight. Lord, I so desperately want to lead someone to you! Even though I know it isn't me who does the leading. I want you to use me and work through me. I confess that I'm a bit jealous that my best friend got to lead a lady to you yesterday at the DMV. Lord, thank you for helping J to do that. Help me to not be jealous but to be encouraged and spurred on to talk to others about you. In Jesus' name, amen. <3
FREEDOM WORKSHOP VERSES
1 Peter 4:12-13
Dear friends, don't be surprised at the fiery trials you are going through, as if something strange were happening to you. Instead, be very glad - because these trials will make you partners with Christ in his suffering, and afterward you will have the wonderful joy of sharing his glory when it is displayed to all the world.
1 Peter 4:12-13
Romans 6:16
Don't you realize that whatever you choose to obey becomes your master? You can choose sin, which leads to death, or you can choose to obey God and receive his approval.
Romans 6:16
MEMORY VERSES
James 1:12-15
God blesses those who patiently endure testing and temptation. Afterward they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him. And remember, when you are being tempted, do not say, "God is tempting me." God is never tempted to do wrong, and he never tempts anyone else. Temptation comes from our own desires which entice us and drag us away. These desires give birth to sinful actions. And when sin is allowed to grow, it gives birth to death.
