God's Power for Us Who Believe Him

If you are a regular follower of this blog, then you will notice a bit of a change for the next 8 weeks. I am serving as a table leader for an 8 week Freedom Workshop. Week 2 - Day 3
Ephesians 1; Psalm 13

Ephesians 1:3

All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ.

Oh, Lord, I can hardly begin to wrap my head around what this means for me! I'm sure that I've barely scratched the surface of the spiritual blessings that are available to me. Lord, help me to delve deep into them; help me to own them and use them for your glory!

To own them I first must know what they are:  chosen by God, forgiveness, eternal life, fellowship with God, the Holy Spirit indwelling me, adopted by God, heavenly inheritance, the fruit of the Spirit, the gifts of the Spirit, knowledge, wisdom, understanding of the scriptures, power to do God's will instead of the will of my sinful nature. I'm sure there are more than I could think to list here.

Ephesians 1:19-20

I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God's power for us who believe him. This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God's right hand in the heavenly realms.

This is the power that is available to me! Each of the spiritual blessings you gave me are filled with this same power! And this power can help me defeat my nemesis, my sinful nature. If this doesn't cause me to get feisty, I don't know what will! 

Thank you, Lord, for making such incredible, mighty power available to me through the Holy Spirit. In myself there is only weakness. But when I walk in step with you, Lord, the power of the Holy Spirit flows through me and you are glorified.

Lord, I want to live and move in this power and the spiritual blessings you have given me. Thank you for showering your kindness on me, along with all wisdom and understanding. Ephesians 1:8 Please increase my wisdom and understanding so I can live for you. In Jesus' name, amen.
