You Purify Me!

Leviticus 14:3-4
"If the priest finds that someone has been healed of a serious skin disease, he will perform a purification ceremony, using two live birds that are ceremonially clean, a stick of cedar, some scarlet yarn, and a hyssop branch."

All the items used in this ceremony speak of cleansing and forgiveness. Later on the person who had been healed was required to shave their head, take a bath, and offer sacrifices. This symbolized a renewed fellowship with God.

When the sacrifices were offered, the priest put some of the blood on the right ear lobe, right thumb, and right big toe of the person being purified. This showed the person's renewed desire and resolve to worship and serve the Lord. Olive oil was also placed on the same body parts symbolizing the Holy Spirit.

Lord, when I have been engaging those other voices and had an "affair" with them. I need to be cleansed and forgiven too. You are the High Priest who purifies me! I am then able to have renewed fellowship with you. You fill me back up with your Holy Spirit so that I am again equipped to serve and worship you.

You also do all of this for the person who repents of their sins and turns to you as their Lord and Savior for the first time.

And this is just scratching the surface of all the "hidden" meaning in this purification ceremony! What a mighty, awesome, and holy God you are!! In Jesus' name, amen. <3

MEMORY VERSES
James 1:19-21
Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters. You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry. Human anger does not produce the righteousness God desires. So get rid of all the filth and evil in your lives, and humbly accept the word God has planted in your hearts, for it has the power to save your souls.
James 1:19-21

Psalm 19:12-14
How can I know all the sins lurking in my heart?
Cleanse me from these hidden faults.
Keep your servant from deliberate sins!
Don't let them control me.
Then I will be free of gilt
and innocent of great sin.
May the words of my mouth
and the meditation of my heart
be pleasing to you,
O LORD my rock and my redeemer.
Psalm 19:12-14

Don't Let Me Infect Others

Leviticus 13:45-46
"Those who suffer from a serious skin disease must tear their clothing and leave their hair uncombed. They must cover their mouth and call out, 'Unclean! Unclean!' As long as the serious disease lasts, they will be ceremonially unclean. They must live in isolation in their place outside the camp."

The Bible often uses leprosy as a picture of sin. Sin can be highly contagious, like leprosy. It separates us from God and can also isolate us from family and friends.

Lord, help me to be quick to catch those little foxes before they ruin the vineyard of my love for you and others. Help me to guard against becoming infected by those other voices. But when I do, don't let me infect others with my sin.

Lord, help me to be aware of the voices those around me are listening to. Don't let me become infected by their sin. If they know this message, help me to lovingly send them to you for cleansing. If they don't, then help me to pray for them and perhaps share this message if they are open to it.

Thank you for your word! Even though it seems harsh at times, like the way the lepers had to tear their clothing, leave their hair uncombed, call out "unclean!", and live in isolation. It's only because you are very serious about protecting us and because you long to see us turn from our wicked ways and submit to you so you can heal and cleanse us. I love you so much!! In Jesus' name, amen. <3

Cleanse Me From Hidden Sin

If you are a regular follower of this blog, then you will notice a bit of a change for the next 8 weeks. I am serving as a table leader for an 8 week Freedom Workshop. If you'd like to follow along, you can find the resources at the link directly above. Also, I will post here, the daily Bible reading assignment (heartwork) so you can read along. This workshop has been a life changer for me so I'm eager to share it with others. May you be blessed!

BIBLE READING HEARTWORK
Week 8 - Day 7
Psalm 19; Psalm 112
Psalm 19:12-14
How can I know all the sins lurking in my heart?
Cleanse me from these hidden faults.
Keep your servant from deliberate sins!
Don't let them control me.
Then I will be free of guilt
and innocent of great sin.
May the words of my mouth
and the meditation of my heart
be pleasing to you,
O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.

Lord, this is my prayer! Please cleanse me from sins that are hiding in my heart where even I am unaware of them. Keep me from deliberate sins. Don't let them control me. Please help the words of my mouth and the things I think about to be pleasing to you, for you are my rock and my redeemer.

Lord, I'm so exhausted this morning. I'm going to need your strength to do this. I'm not sure how this is going to work. The kids don't seem to be doing their school while I'm not here. How am I going to get them to do it if I can't be here to make them? Lord, please help me! Give me wisdom please! In Jesus' name, amen. <3

BIBLE READING HEARTWORK
Week 8 - Day 6
Romans 11; Psalm 121
Psalm 121:1-2
I look up to the mountains --
does my help come from there?
My help comes from the Lord,
who made heaven and earth!

Lord, I am so glad that my help comes from you! That should give me such faith and confidence. The creator of all the heavens and the earth watches over me and holds my hand! You will not let me stumble. You delight in every detail of my life. Lord, help me to remember to share every detail with you as it is happening. Help me to remember to bring you with me into every detail.

Thank you for this new job that you have given me. Help me not to neglect my first job. I can't afford to loose that one because it is what provides for the kid's curriculum for school

Please help me to be the employee that my FIL needs right now. I suspect that he needs someone to keep him company, bounce ideas off of, help him keep his thoughts straight, remind him of what is happening with each job and all that goes into being a good customer service person and secretary. With your help, Lord, I know I can do this.

I also need to keep track of the kids getting their school work done. Lord, I can't do all this without you. It's all too much for me alone. But your strength is more than sufficient for me. Help me to rely on your strength and not my own. I love you!! In Jesus' name, amen. <3

Lord, Save Me From Deception

BIBLE READING HEARTWORK
Week 8 - Day 4
Romans 10; Psalm 120
Psalm 120:1-4
I took my troubles to the Lord;
I cried out to him, and he answered my prayer.
Rescue me, O Lord, from liars
and from all deceitful people.
O deceptive tongue, what will God do to you?
How will he increase your punishment?
You will be pierced with sharp arrows
and burned with glowing coals.

I praise you, Lord, that I can bring my troubles to you and you answer my prayers. Rescue me from my own deceitful heart! Lord, don't let me believe the lies my sinful nature tries to tell me. I am a woman of unclean lips and I live among a people of unclean lips. (Isaiah 6:5) Please make me clean by washing me with your words of truth. Transform me into a new person by changing the way I think. (Romans 12:2)

I thank you, Lord, for helping me get through my first day of work. Please help me to remember what I'm learning. Help me with the brain overload I've been having while trying to learn all this new information.

And please help me to stop saying, "Gotcha" so much. My FIL says that it breaks his train of thought. I didn't realize how much I say that. At least we were able to joke about it yesterday and he even started saying it too.

Lord, thank you for helping me to tell my FIL about the mistake I made yesterday. My sinful nature was trying hard to keep me from telling him. But I don't want to start out a new job keeping secrets from my boss. That is no way to live anyway. So thank you for helping me to be honest and tell him about it. Lord, could you help me to find a way to correct that mistake?? That would be awesome. I love you, so very much!! In Jesus' name, amen <3

Luke 10:38-41; Psalm 119:169-176
Luke 10:41-42
But the Lord said to her, "My dear Martha, you are worried and upset over all these details! There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it and it will not be taken away from her."

Lord, I tend to get caught up in details too. Help me to be concerned about the one thing, spending time with you. Help me to be aware of your presence with me throughout my day.

Especially as I'm starting this new job, there are a million details that I could be worried and upset about. "Oh Lord, listen to my cry; give me the discerning mind you promised." Psalm 119:169

Lord, I pray that you will help me to remember what MyHero taught me and quickly learn what I still need to learn. Please help my kids to get their schoolwork done so that I will not be stressing over that in addition to learning a new job.

Lord, I would love to be used to draw my Father-in-Law to you. Lord, you know his heart and how hard it seems toward you. Please soften his heart. Help me to have your words for him. In Jesus' name, amen. <3

Week 8 - Day 2
Romans 3; Psalm 119:153-160
Psalm 119:160
The very essence of your words is truth;
all your just regulations will stand forever.

Wow! I'm learning that believing lies is what causes the chemical imbalance in my brain causing depression. Scientists have discovered that a steady diet of hearing the truth can reverse that imbalance. So if the very essence of your words is truth, then submersing myself in your word can help my depression. Lord, you truly ARE all I need!

Lord, I would love to get off my anti-depressant. But I don't want to do that unless you are very clearly leading me to. MyHero tells me that he is all for it, but isn't sure if the timing is right.

Either way, thank you for driving home to me yet again the importance of being in your word and memorizing scripture. I love you so much!! In Jesus' name, amen. <3

Romans 2:13 & 16
13 For merely listening to the law doesn't make us right with God. It is obeying the law that makes us right in his sight. 16 And this is the message I proclaim - that the day is coming when God, through Christ Jesus, will judge everyone's secret life.

Lord, help me to obey your word because I love you. I don't obey in order to earn my place in heaven. Jesus has already secured that for me.

Help me to be transparent, Lord. I don't want to even have a secret life. I want my life to be hidden in you. Then I will have nothing to be ashamed of when you come for me.

Lord, thank you for using my sisters to get me to you last night. Thank you for being so wonderfully kind, tolerant, and patient with me. Romans 2:4 Thank you for showing me that I was listening to the wrong voices and for forgiving me for engaging and having a date with them.

Lord, you are the lover of my soul! Those other voices only want to steal, kill and destroy. You won't allow me to stay long in a place that damages and contaminates my soul and my love for you. I praise you and I love you! In Jesus' name, amen. <3
